The next phase of the £3.3m Skills Bootcamp programme announced last month is coming soon, with a call for local organisations to help deliver training in green skills, technical and digital sectors.
The expansion of the Skills Bootcamp programme, funded by Government, will support around 1,200 people across the West of England with free and flexible courses for up to 16 weeks.
The training will be aimed at those who are unemployed, those seeking a career change, as well as employed local people looking to gain new skills.
On 6 June, the Combined Authority is hosting a phase two launch event for local training providers and businesses who are specifically interested in delivering training in retrofit, sustainability solutions, welding, and digital marketing. Consortia can have any combination of employers, training providers, colleges, universities, sector representatives and/or other community charity organisations – who can co-design and co-deliver innovative approaches to address ‘in-demand’ skills.

Phase two follows a successful launch for phase one, with over 30 local businesses interested in collaborating to provide training courses in the logistics and construction sector.
